An Altered Book is a piece of mixed media artwork featuring an old book that has had new life breathed into it. You might choose a specific book because of its title or theme, or you can create something entirely new.

Using a hard-cover book of whatever size you choose (I recommend no more than about 300 pages), you will cut, tear, glue, collage, stamp, fold and adorn the pages according to a few instructions from me, plus your imagination.

We’ll add flaps and pockets, doorways that open, secret compartments, and much more.

You can use your Altered Book as an art journal or as a piece of art on its own.
