What is a Vision Board? (Sometimes called a Dream Board, Inspiration Board, or Treasure Map)
A Vision Board is a powerful visual tool that you can use as inspiration for your journey toward the life you want to live. It can help clarify your hopes, dreams, and goals. Literally, it is any type of poster or board on which you display words and images that represent things you want to be, do, or have in your life. It is a way to remind yourself of your passion and your purpose.
It can help you focus on life goals that make you feel happy and fulfilled. It works on the principles within the “Law of Attraction”, in which “like attracts like”. What this means is that whether we realize it or not, we are responsible for bringing both positive and negative influences into our lives.
We will spend time thinking about what we want in our lives, who, where, how. You will receive a handout with a variety of questions to ask yourself as you settle down and get ready to create your Vision Board for the New Year.
By representing your goals with pictures and images you will actually strengthen and stimulate your emotions because your mind responds strongly to visual stimulation... and your emotions are the vibrational energy that activates the Law of Attraction.
The saying “A picture is worth a thousand words,” certainly holds true here.
So, pay attention to your thoughts. Whenever you start to think, “I’d love to travel to …..” or “Next year I want to organize my closet” or “I wish I could buy a new car,” look for images and words that represent that thought. Keep them in a folder or box, so that when we meet on Zoom, you will be ready to create!
