Join Kat Kirby and Deborah Milosevich at the iconic Mabel Dodge Luhan House for 5 days, 4 nights of creative exploration and enjoyment. Leave the world behind as you step into this magical world of peace, inspiration, camaraderie, and nurturing. https://www.mabeldodgeluhan.com/
We’ll begin our retreat with an evening wine and cheese reception to introduce ourselves to one another and settle into the ambiance of the Mabel Dodge Luhan House.
We’ll gather in our wonderful adobe studio for creative sessions and exploration of your personal soul journey.
In the mornings and afternoons, we’ll spend time in the spacious, light-filled studio, creating a journal about you, making SoulCollage® cards, and journaling with words and images that describe what makes you the unique person that you are.
Evenings can be spent wandering into town, reading, creating in the studio, or relaxing in front of the fireplace at the main house.
Our first session will involve constructing a poem all about you, inspired by memories from your childhood. We will create a poem that is a beautiful and true picture of our selves. From there we will begin to add layers of complexity and insight through SoulCollage and the journal we will be making.
SoulCollage is a magical and often profound process of creating a unique and personal deck of oracle cards, developed by the late Seena Frost. With this process, using our intuition, we make a selection of images, without knowing why, and then using just scissors and a glue stick, we create soulful cards and gradually build our SoulCollage decks. This becomes our personal story, describing in images who we are, the roles we play, our supporters and challengers, and the archetypes that guide us.
Our handmade journals will be created using materials such as large manila envelopes, mixed media, scrapbook, and copy paper. Kat will teach you how to construct this book and make it your own. With pockets and secret tuck spots, this Treasure Book will house some of the newly created cards as well as our writings, dreams, insights, and poems.
During our time together at the retreat we will be considering the following questions:
• When was the last time you truly let your intuition guide and inform you?
• How do you express yourself with images and words?
• What memories do you carry with you?
• How have your past experiences shaped your life ?
• What makes you YOU? ?
Deborah and Kat will encourage and inspire you through a variety of prompts, poems, and personal stories to set the stage for your own creative expression.

Your Retreat Guides:
Deborah Milosevich
Lubbock, Texas
I have been a professional artist for more than forty years. My work has been shown in galleries in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. I served as the director for the Lubbock Arts Alliance for several years and taught Art Appreciation at Texas Tech University for 18 years.
Over the past 20 years, I have led various art workshops in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Some of the workshops included painting, shrine building, mixed media construction and spirit dolls. I discovered SoulCollage several years ago and became a facilitator. I have gotten so much out of my own SoulCollage practice that I wanted to share it with others and have led several workshops that focused on just that. I thoroughly enjoy being with workshop participants as they discover new levels of creativity and personal insight.
